DIBS for 2021 is active - Please read before going to the tab

    Hello Parents,

The Volunteer tab “DIBS” has been uploaded to the WBYFO website and is active for you to claim a volunteer role for the 2021 season. For those who paid the $100.00 opt out fee, please disregard the email.

The tab is located under the +More tab above

Remember that the families are required to claim 2 roles per player in the season; this means if you have 2 children 4 roles must be claimed.

A tip in when selecting a role – it is best to work prior to or after your child’s game in order to sit in the stands to watch your game.

Volunteers are required to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time to ensure a smooth transfer of personnel and to be able to get some training on certain roles.

On week 6 – East is home for 3 games as well as West. At this time the date is disabled until we get the times from our league. When that happens an email from sports engine will go out stating week 6 is open now.

You are not restricted to East or West only games – you are welcome to claim a role from either program.

A brief description of each role is as follows

Announcer – Announce games in a professional way – No play by play statements during the play, enticing the crowd in any way or derogatory comments towards the players – coaches – officials in any way.

Scoreboard operator – Operate the scoreboard and accurately start and stop the clock on the motion of the official hand motions.

Chain Gang – Move the down Markers up and down the side line on the opposing (visitors) sideline. – This role requires individuals to refrain from coaching and talking to opposing players, coaches as well as your own home team players during the game.  – No children are allowed for this position

Concession Helper – Prepare food on the grill for sale, Take orders and money for sales to customers. Assist in set up and tear down of concessions to the state it was when we received it from the High School.

Videographer – record the football game for the team.

Game day reporter – prepare a small paragraph on the game and submit it to the President by Monday 12 pm – if the deadline is met the stories will be sent to the Daily News and included into their Thursday edition.

Cookie Dough – Parents only – Hand out boxes of cookie dough to the families in an assembly line fashion –

Thank you and good luck to all the teams.
